About the artist

Cathy Morgan has been an inspired artist from her early childhood motivated by where she grew up in Sandusky, on the shores of Lake Erie. She is the daughter of two exceptionally creative parents and spent her high school summers sketching her countryside environment rapidly refining her natural artistic skills.

Throughout her artistic career Cathy has studied with some of the finest contemporary artists of our time; Doug Dawson, Wheat Ridge, CO, Greg Barnes, Charlotte, NC, and Annie Pais, Gainesville, FL to mention just a few. She has exhibited at the Leepa Ratner Museum of Art, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin Fine Art Center, Dunedin, Brooker Creek Environmental Center, Tarpon Springs and many more. Her work is considered by many to be extremely collectible. Peter Lowes, Vista Gallery, Clearwater, FL calls Cathy a “World Class Artist.” Pat Mansfield, Bath, NC said of Cathy’s work that she is “Amazed at her originality, concept and museum quality. Her layers and strokes give aliveness to her work.”

Some years ago Cathy spent two years in the coastal town of Bath in North Carolina, painting in an undisturbed setting, and listening to her inner voice shaping her destiny. It was during this phase that she developed her own style of creating art that is treasured today and will continue to be in the future.

Her work is expressive crafted by instinctive strokes; it has a rich depth and inspiration that is visual poetry with a balance of blending realism and modernism.
